Want to experience a day in the life of a JBFC camper? Then look no further! 9th- and 10th-grade campers from our third session of Lab Camp—part of Summer @ The Lab—created a 360 video entitled Behind the Scenes, which puts you smack in the center of the action as campers set up and shoot a scene – but not everything is as it appears! Instead of shooting a documentary-style scene, the campers instead decided to imagine a poorly run shoot for the Dick Van Dyke Show, creating a hilarious meta-commentary on what it’s like to work on a live sitcom set when nothing seems to go right.
To view the campers’ film, click the play arrow on the video above. For best results, we recommend viewing the film using a headset such as Google Cardboard. If you’re not able to do so, use your mouse to explore in 360° on your screen!
In this year’s iteration of Summer @ The Lab, campers relished the opportunity to explore new frontiers of immersive storytelling, from Virtual Reality (VR) to 360° video. For more, you can check out additional 360° videos from the summer on the JBFC’s Youtube channel - just click on the "Summer @ The Lab" or "360 & Immersive Video" playlists!
Big thanks to all the campers, counselors, and families who made this year’s Summer @ The Lab so special. We hope to see you again next summer, and look forward to greeting all of our returning students this fall for Courses @ The Lab!
