Cinemania Student Critic Review - Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

By Kamei Giles, Cinemania Student Critic 05.23.17

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a movie that I would watch over and over again because of how vibrant the colors and the characters are and that really brings this story to life.

One thing that I really love about this movie is that they actually brought back the original cast that played Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa from previous movies in the series which made the movie even better than it already was in my opinion. I think that if the director had replaced an actor who played an iconic character in the series, it would have thrown off the whole entire movie for me.

My favorite part of the movie was when The Resistance manages to destroy Starkiller Base. It ends the movie in a huge explosion and shows the X-wing squadron lead by Poe Dameron flying back to base. I think that this move really revamped the Star Wars franchise and packed it full of life. It really made me feel like this series is brand new and fresh instead of me feeling like this is just another addition to a series that started in 1977.
