Get to Know Mo Herbert

By Mo Herbert, Creators' Co-op Student 03.17.15

Recently we ran an Artist Statement Workshop with our Creators' Co-op students. Artist Statements are written by working artists in order to explain and contextualize the body of work they create. Here is an example written by Mo Herbert, a student in our Creators' Co-op Program. Be sure to check out Mo's artistry in action. Watch her short film, Bad Faith.

I make short films that are driven mainly by my cinematographic choices and how the cinematography, combined with the music, creates a certain feeling and aesthetic. In addition, the narrative in my films generally emphasizes the theme that society has a biased view on art and that art is inherently subjective, so it needs to come from personal experiences. It’s art about art.
