JBFC Fellow’s Film Makes the Rounds on the Festival Circuit

By Paige Grand Pre, Education Communications Associate 05.17.17

We at the JBFC are always pleased to share news of current and former fellows' success. To that end, we are very proud to announce that Fall 2017 Valentine & Clark Emerging Artist Fellow and Creative Culture participant Emily Ann Hoffman has received some stellar recognition for her work as of late.

Just last month, Emily Ann’s original short film OK, Call Me Back took home the prize for Best Experimental Film at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) in Seattle. Last year, the short garnered her a Sundance Ignite Fellowship through Sundance’s Project 1234 competition, so it’s no surprise that she continues to rake in the accolades.

OK, Call Me Back was shot at the JBFC Media Arts Lab and received production support from multiple JBFC Staff Members, including Russell Peborde, who served as Director of Photography, and Sean Weiner, who produced the work. Next up, the film will screen in California as part of the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival!

We are endlessly proud of all that Emily Ann has accomplished and look forward to her continued success. Make sure to watch OK, Call Me Back by clicking on the video above this post. Want more? Check out Emily Ann's Vimeo channel HERE.
