For those of you who have not yet attended a family-friendly screening at the theater or a Family Saturday @ The Lab, JBFC Kids is our exciting initiative designed to make the theater-going experience more inviting for kids. We welcome a new generation of viewers and their families into our community of cinema lovers and media-makers by planning monthly family-friendly screenings, offering a full roster of courses and workshops for kids ages 3—13, and hosting free, hands-on activities on the first Saturday of select months—Family Saturdays @ The Lab—at our Media Arts Lab.
Now in its second year, JBFC Kids has begun to expand its reach through our “JBFC Kids On Location” events! JBFC Kids On Location is a new and exciting way for families to engage with our educational staff and film programming through media-centric activities. By bringing the magic of “viewing and doing” to new people, places, and communities throughout Westchester we hope to spread awareness of the kid-friendly programming—from screenings to events—that takes place across the JBFC campus.
To that end, we are proud to announce that JBFC Kids On Location will be at the Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival this Saturday, October 14! Westchester’s biggest event for children, the Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival features author signings, readings, crafts, activities, entertainment, food trucks, and more. Stop by Bell Middle School in Chappaqua any time from 10:00 am—4:00 pm on Saturday and visit the JBFC Kids On Location booth for a FREE, hands-on activity that will enable children to create their own viewfinder, flex their creative muscles, think like a director, and learn the language of film! While there, we encourage you to engage with our staff to learn more about JBFC Kids courses, screenings, and events.
See you Saturday!
