Get ready, our “Sounds of Summer” film series launches this week on Thursday, July 10! That’s right, all summer long our theater will be alive with the sounds of music! From rock docs to jazz flicks and everything in between, we’ll be raising the roof and bringing down the house. But the music doesn’t stop there! This fall the Media Arts Lab will be offering several workshops dedicated to the aural elements of movie and media making. So whether listening or playing is your thing, we’ve got something for everyone.
Starting with our Foley Fun course in September, third and fourth grade students will get a chance to explore and create their very own sound effects. (Did you know an umbrella can sound like birds flying?) Our state-of-the-art recording studio houses a 24-track mixing console, which takes our family workshop, Digital Music, to a whole new (professional) level! Come on down and record a family anthem! You can even learn how to create your very own musical instruments in our all-ages Maker Music Workshop which will be happening in November. Even Scoring will be one of the workshops in our Creators’ Co-op program exclusively for high school students!
Registration for Fall 2014 will open the week of July 14th, so be sure to keep an eye on our website!
