The JBFC is pleased to host world premieres for our Minds in Motion program participants this May and June! This spring, over 400 fourth grade students from PEARLS Hawthorne, School 5 Kahlil Gibran, and Casimir Pulaski in Yonkers; Church Street in White Plains; and Claremont Elementary in Ossining participated in Minds in Motion. Each participating class works collaboratively with volunteers and a teaching artist over the course of 12 weeks to write, storyboard, direct, and produce an original stop-motion animated film in small groups.
Now that production on their films has wrapped, these young animators will walk the red carpet, receive popcorn and juice, and see their stop-motion animation films premiere on the big screen! These events at the JBFC Theater are free and open to the public, so we invite you to join us:
- Friday, May 12 at 9:30 am: PEARLS Hawthorne School
- Monday, June 12 at 10:00 am: Kahlil Gibran School & School 5 Elementary
- Tuesday, June 13 at 12:00 pm: Claremont Elementary School
- Wednesday, June 14 at 5:30 pm: Church Street Elementary & Casimir Pulaski School
