Curious George

Recommended Age: 2+

PBS Kids, Hulu (with subscription)

Why JBFC Interim Director of Education Sarah O’Hare recommends it: My one and a half year old is in love - it’s sweet, compelling, full of science experiments, and the animation is great. While George’s messes tend to get a bit out of hand, the thoughtfulness that goes into solving each problem is really clear, making the simple story structure easy for small kids to understand. The show does an excellent job of looking at the world from a toddler’s perspective. Not to mention there are many, many seasons available to watch, with each story succinctly lasting 10 minutes.

Fun Movie Fact: The series won an Emmy in 2008 and 2010 for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program.
