How we say something often communicates more than what we are actually saying. “Great Job!” can mean the opposite if said sarcastically.
Pair up with another student.
One student holds a prop, like a phone or a pen, the other student has nothing
The student that has nothing starts to ask the other student for the prop “can I have that?”
The Student with the prop replies “no”
The student without the prop continues to ask for the prop with the same dialogue, but changes their tone. They may try to beg, intimidate, and joke to try and get the prop
Each time the words will be the same but the underlying tone will be different.
