I’ve always been obsessed with traveling – particularly I had an obsession with London. It always seemed that London was a sacred place because the Royal Family lived there and the Spice Girls were from there. Naturally, I decided to study abroad in London. During the spring of 2012, I lived and thrived in London. Each day was an adventure and I loved every second of my trip. One day, my friend asked if I wanted to attend The Hunger Games World Premiere. Of course I said YES! We woke up at the crack of dawn to head over to the red carpet, and waited all day for a glimpse of the actors. Not only did we get to see the stars of the movie – Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Huterhson and Liam Hemsworth – we were also treated to the eye candy known as Chris Hemsworth. After a star-studded half hour, I was in heaven. I couldn’t believe I got to meet, and take pictures, with all these people. I couldn’t believe my luck, and didn’t think the night could get any better. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Scary Spice gracefully get out of her car. Up until that point, I kept my cool when meeting the various stars of the red carpet. But when Melanie Brown walked on the carpet, the child in my exploded with excitement. Since I was the only one who was freaking out, she walked over to me and we had a short conversation before taking a photo. I was numb after our encounter, not only was I living in my favorite city, I got to meet one of my childhood idols. To this day, I still pinch myself when I think back to this night.
